What fun! We're not in Lyon, but there's still lots of helpful stuff on the site. I'm going to pass the link on to the other students here at le Centre in Albertville.

Help! Can anyone tell me where I can find a good selection of California wine? I live in Chambery but would take a train to Lyon to get my hands on my favorites. I lived in California for 27 years and gotta have my wine! Thanks, Cynthia in the French Alps

Hi Cynthia

We've found California wines fairly easily in Lyon - most recently at a shop in the 6th arrondissement.

Hi, Kari, thanks for the tip. Do you have a couple of street names for shops with CA wines? I don't know Lyon at all and it's a big city. I have been to every wine shop and grocery store in Chambery and have not found any CA wines (other than bad Gallo types). So I would appreciate any details you could offer from the next time you find a selection in Lyon. I'd spend a day on the train to Lyon for a few good bottles to add to my wine cellar! Thanks, Cynthia

Really helpful :) Can you tell me pls in which Carrefour ou saw Splenda- I have been in 3 already and nothing so far (Carrefour at Part Dieu, in Givors and Saint Etienne). Is there any other store I shall look for? Thanks in advance

Hi Carolina

Our friends used to buy it at Carrefour at Part Dieu, but I rarely make it out there so have no idea if/when they stopped carrying.

We can find it at our Monoprix pretty regularly though. It's near the coffee/tea section.

Good luck!

Sorry to break it to you Carolina, but the company that sells splenda stopped selling retail in the entire country of France. They only sell it wholesale, so if you have a buddy that runs a cafe or something they might be able to order a large amount. Starbucks has it to put in their coffee drinks. I think they still sell n GB and Spain. I'm looking to order some online cause we're going to run out. Dori

I am so excited that you found black beans!!! XD When I lived in Montpellier last year, they had a world market that sold them, but I haven't been able to find them here in Lyon. Also, I was wondering if you knew where to find any Burt's Bees products? Thanks!
